Local Rules

1. OUT OF BOUNDS
A ball coming to rest beyond all white posts or the perimeter of the course will be deemed to be out of bounds.
A ball coming to rest in the flower bed behind the practice putting green is out of bounds.

2. TROLLEY BAYS
Treat as GUR.

3. DEFINED PATHS
Relief may only be taken from:

The path to the left of the 1st /10th green and behind the 3rd /12th green - a ball coming to rest on this defined area may be lifted and dropped without penalty in a designated dropping zone.

The path between the 5th/14th tee and 7th /16th tee; to the right of the 7th /16th right bunker leading to the 8th /17th tee; and the bridge on the 8th /17th tee - a ball coming to rest on this defined area may be lifted and dropped without penalty within one club length from the nearest point of relief no nearer the hole.
Additionally: approaches and exits from ALL bridges, including to the right of the 4th fairway where it crosses the steam; pathway in between 2th/3rd fairway; area underneath the hawthorn tree front left of the of the 3rd green; area either side of the humps of 5th/14th fairway; area on the far side of the stream of the 5th/14th and 8th/17th tees; and, area on the 9th/18th next to the stream – a ball coming to rest on these areas may be lifted and dropped without penalty within one club length from the nearest point of relief no nearer the hole.

4. PRACTICE GREEN
Practice Putting Green - The ball must be lifted and dropped off the practice putting green at the nearest point of relief no nearer the hole.

5. YELLOW PENALTY AREAS
The margins of the water hazards are marked with yellow posts. Rule 17 applies. A ball landing on a bridge may be played as it lies, or deemed to be in the hazard.

6. FIXED SPRINKLER HEADS, STAKED TREES AND FLOWER BEDS
All fixed sprinkler heads and staked trees are deemed immovable objects and relief may be obtained under rule 16. Relief MUST be taken from all planted areas and flower beds on the course.

7. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS
All internal constructions, including the built-up sides of teeing grounds are classed as immovable obstructions and free relief is available under Rule 16.

Balls hit beyond course boundary
Any ball hit beyond the course boundary that lands in an adjacent property must be reported immediately to our Club Manager: Peter Mutton – t: 020 8894 0165 or e: secretary@shgolf.co.uk.
Please state your name, the hole number and where you believe your ball may have landed.

Short iron play allowed only. Do not club for more than 100 yards.
