For safety reasons we operate a handicap policy. This means that all visitors require an official handicap and CDH number or equivalent to play our course.
Before playing the course, please ensure that you and others on whose behalf you are making a tee booking, familiarise yourselves with the course safety information (this information is also available by scanning the QR code on the scorecard). In making a booking you confirm and consent on your and your group’s behalf, that you have read and understood the course safety information and agree to comply with the safety notices and guidelines whilst playing on our course.
To book and pay for a 9 or 18 hole visitor tee time please use our online tee booking form.
Before Booking please make sure you have an active golf handicap.
Visitors may book 9 or 18 holes. If playing 18 holes your booking will automatically allocate you a 10th tee time 2 hours after you start your round.
If the 10th tee is busy please note that all Players leaving the 9th Green may alternate with players starting their rounds.
Please Avoid Slow Play at all times and call quicker players through if there is space on the course immediately ahead of you.
On arrival
When you arrive at the Club please check-in at the Pro Shop before commencing play. Each player in your group may be asked to show a valid handicap certificate. You can do this using the England Golf app. We recommend you arrive in good time before your tee booking to allow for this administration. If the Pro Shop is closed when you arrive please check-out at the end of your round.
The Waldegrave course scorecard contains all the essential information. Cards are available from the Pro Shop but if it is closed you can pick one up from inside the back door of the clubhouse.
All players must have their own golf clubs/bags and are politely requested to follow our dress code.
Course Marshals/ Insurance Cover
To help all golfers to have a safe and enjoyable experience on the course, SHGC operates a system of volunteer marshals. Our marshals can be identified by their burgundy vests and blue SHGC caps and can usually be found/are available outside the Clubhouse on the veranda area or by the first tee. They also attend around the course when time allows. Please ask them if you need any information about playing the course.
All green fees should have been paid in advance online at the time of booking, but if for any reason this is not the case then please seek the marshal's advice on how to pay your green fee before commencing play. The marshals may ask your name and to see your handicap certificate and CDH number, to help us ensure all our visitors meet the competency requirement to play the course and to monitor who is on the course when. That is important for insurance purpose, both the Club’s and yours.
Although the Club does have public liability insurance cover for both third party injury and property damage which provides a basic level of coverage for visitors playing the course who have paid a green fee, all golfers are advised that the onus for personal liability is the responsibility of the individual golfer. In consequence the Club advises that all golfers should have in place their own golfing insurance coverage adequate to meet their own risk/personal insurance requirement.
Important
If there is an accident or your ball leaves the golf course boundary, you MUST report this immediately at the end of your round to the Club Manager by email (secretary@shgolf.co.uk) or phone (020 8894 0165, option 3). Please state your name, the hole number, the location from where the shot was taken and where you believe the shot may have landed. This information is required for safety reporting purposes only.
Thank you for your cooperation and enjoy your Golf at Strawberry Hill..
